Lucidworks’ Enterprise Discovery Platform Integrates IBM Watson
An industry leading company based in San Francisco, California, Lucidworks has developed Fusion as an open source platform for search application development. In late 2016, Lucidworks integrated IBM Watson into its next-generation enterprise discovery platform. Lucidworks described the move as enabling improved ways of processing high volumes of multi-structured and structured data within context and enabling data-driven decisions.
The full range of capacities offered by Fusion includes numerical, text, and spatial data. With Watson’s machine learning capacities integrated, critical insights can be delivered in a matter of seconds, with the time required to generate in-house enterprise discovery apps reduced from months to weeks of development effort.
Through the application of Watson via Fusion, organizations’ proprietary combination of structured and unstructured data is processed such that the app gets smarter over time. In particular, it provides more and more applicable answers with every enterprise user query. Among the performance-enhancing Watson capacities within the platform are Speech to Text, Retrieve and Rank, AlchemyLanguage, and Natural Language Classifier.
